This game was more challenging than I initially expected!! It is such a fun idea and I was sitting there rushing to spell “left” and “right” and it resulted in many typos lmao. I think especially for the later issues to give the player more time to react. Having to type the words perfectly and figuring out the perspective adds to the difficulty… the lack of time almost makes it impossible. I also feel that the controls should be explained in the game since I was confused at first. Great game overall!
This game was amazing!! One of the best games I’ve seen so far for this jam. The puzzles and the puzzle mechanics were super fun and made me really think about how to solve them. very impressive and polished game overall. I can see this being a really good commercial game if there were more levels added on top.
This was such a silly and fun game!! I love the art direction and the design for Sh3lly was so cute!! The platforming was fun and difficult (sometimes too difficult lol). My only critique is with the camera movement that I see the other comments discussing already. Overall a great game especially for being made in 3 days!!!
The game was so much fun!! I like the different abilities you get from the shells. I also like how the player is encouraged to go back to earlier in the level with their shell abilities to explore the level more. I keep finding hidden seashells to collect which is fun. The was well executed and really good for a 3 day jam!!
This game is so fun!! I think this is the only game I’ve seen so far which took the concept of “shell” and thought of a peanut shell. The game is so silly and so fun, I imagine this as a game I would play on my IPad when I was younger. My high school was 68. I think for an added layer of challenge to encourage the user to rick pressing the button more is to put a timer on the game, so they can see how many times they can get it in a limited amount of time. Because right now the player can press it once at a time.

The team was able to meet and create a unique idea for gameplay loops within the scope of the three days they had to complete this game jam. Despite the lack of time we all had to work on the game Shell Shanties within our three day long jam, Sea Shanties never lacked quality graphics, a strong gameplay loop, or love from it’s creators.
Considering the good notes first and foremost, the team was very open and honest about communicating with one another about how their work was going and if they had questions on the execution of the original idea. Along with communication, the team also had a strong sense of organization, work ethic, and clearly put a great deal of effort into crafting an incredibly polished game all together!
As for what could have gone better, the team agreed that we all could have allotted more time for QA testing at the end of our project. However, making Shell Shanties as a team together did give us a good insight that helped us improve overall on avoiding mistakes that could possibly cost the quality of a game to plummet.
Overall, this jam was a really fun experience for the entire team to be allowed to participate in the Game Game Jam Jam, and we look forward to future game events hosted by Game Dev Club Club!
The game was very clever! It was interesting to figure out recipes based on hints the customers give. I think this game is one of the best ones I’ve seen so far to match the limitation. My only critique is the lack of sound. The song only loops once and with no other sound effects you end up just playing the game in complete silence which broke my immersion. Overall such a cute and clever game!
