Welcome to the EdenSpark Game Jam series!
Game Jam #3 Theme "Classical Elements"
The theme of elements — from mythology, alchemy, and tabletop games — offers vast room for game design. It could be controlling elemental magic and their combinations; the physics of fire, water, wind, ice, or lightning as mechanics; elemental creatures and their clashes; an ecosystem where elements influence one another; crafting and “alchemy” based on your chosen elemental system. Unexpected approaches also fit: elements as character archetypes, natural disasters as survival challenges, a new reading of creation myths, or something entirely your own. Any sets of elements (both classic and alternative) are acceptable. The key is that the connection to the theme is clear from the project’s design and description.
Dates: August 1st – 31st. As promised, the third jam will run for a full month — more time to develop your ideas, rest between rounds, and tackle more ambitious projects. You have the whole month of August to create a playable version in EdenSpark, publish it on EdenSpark and itch.io, and submit your entry on the jam page. The winners of each jam are chosen by the EdenSpark team and participant voting, and at the program's grand finale the best projects will compete for the main prizes.
