# Welcome to the .EXE Game Jam.  Are you ready to corrupt the nostalgia? This is a game jam dedicated to the dark side of digital folklore. Create a horror game inspired by Creepypastas, lost media, haunted software, and the classic ".exe" horror subgenre. ### 💀 The Theme >span class="CS0cqb" data-copy-service-computed-style="font-family: monospace; font-size: 14px; font-weight: 400; margin: 0px; text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 0px rgb(129, 201, 149);">[FREE .EXE HORROR"]** ### 📜 Rules 1. **Platform:** The final submission must include a playable Windows build (a `.exe` file), or a web build if accessible. 2. **Content Warnings:** You MUST include a warning if your game has flashing lights (epilepsy hazard), extreme gore, or heavy themes. 3. **Originality:** You can use pre-made assets, but you must credit the authors. The core logic/gameplay must be made during the jam. 4. **Safety:** No actual malware, viruses, or harm to the player's computer. The "corruption" must stay inside the game or the game's folder! ### 🏆 Criteria & Voting Games will be rated by the community based on: * **Atmosphere:** How unsettling and creepy is the game? * **Creativity:** Original twists on the ".exe" genre. * **Audio & Visuals:** Retro glitches, VHS effects, and sound design.
