Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure follows the story of Jemma, a small-town misfit on a journey of self-discovery. Venturing out beyond her stiflingly cozy confines, she finds an inspiring world - but also one ruled by fear, and a strange, immovable ‘static’ force. Can she disrupt a culture of stagnation, and find a place to fit into it?

Gameplay takes place on a unique, interconnected ‘grid’ that spans the entire world, snappily uniting movement, exploration, and combat. Anything on the same row or column as Jemma moves when she moves, and can ‘loop’ around the edge of the grid - creating both a playful sense of chaos, and a regular stream of small, thoughtful puzzles that twist and play with the central mechanic.

Features:

  • Unique, interconnected gameplay “grid” that snappily unites movement, combat, and exploration.
  • A story-driven adventure about a small-town misfit on a journey of self-discovery.
  • A breezy RPG without XP or inventory to manage, where everything is handled in-world.
  • A nicely-sized campaign with some optional challenges, and various assist options so that you only get as stuck as you want to be.
  • Debut game from an all-star development team, featuring the artist behind Braid.

This game was interesting. I really liked the moving mechanics.

Hey thanks very much!

Absolutely loved this game, this is coming from someone who doesn't particularly like puzzle games too. The art in the background was fabulous and something I've never seen before. The music was great too.

The sliding puzzle gimmick is so satisfying to just mess around with, especially exploring around and solving micro-puzzles to move on. The actual puzzle chambers weren't that difficult (I could usually just shuffle around for a bit until a solution popped up), although I can imagine that is due to the game being targeted to a younger demographic.

Coming here after just finishing the game, the only real gripe I had was that I couldn't go back to the open world after finishing the game (I think I completed all of the objectives, and was also warned of this, but it still seemed like an odd decision). Apart from that, I couldn't ask for anything more. Keep up the good work :)

Btw, I was wondering if you have any plans for upcoming games I could be excited about?

Thanks so much for the very kind review!!

Yeah that was a tricky element to figure out, letting folks back into the open world after the end. We did the best we could in the time we had, which led to the warning before you embark on the final stretch. But I can see how it could be a little annoying, thanks for bearing with it.

No specific plans to share, but all of our key team members are on Bluesky if you want to keep tabs on what we do next!

Good writing, but... Role-playing? I got to the town exit, and so far, it's been a fairly linear puzzle game.

people define it a lot of different ways, though we feel we have the vibes, and a bunch of the core elements, even if much simplified and flattened out. but that's why we lead with role-puzzling. hope you're enjoying it!
