Hello there! The GBJam is quite a ways out, but I wanted to get the ball rolling early to keep up some creative momentum from a previous Game Jam.

I released a “1st Person Grid-based Dungeon Crawler RPG” (https://llamakazi.itch.io/synergy-abyss) for the “Fxck Capitalism Jam” (https://itch.io/jam/fuck-capitalism-jam-2026), and the feedback was exceptionally encouraging!

However, working mostly solo was rather time-consuming, so hopefully I can wrangle a team this time around to help spread out the cognitive & creative load (so to speak)

My strengths mainly lie in Programming & Game Design, but I also dabble in Writing, Art, & Audio. I also have experience leading a team, if you want to simply join up and not really worry about that aspect at all.

I also highly recommend GB Studio, since by it’s very nature it EASILY meets all of the requirements for this Game Jam. The restrictions imposed by the hardware do indeed breed a bit of creativity, after all!

The emulator that GB Studio employs for Web builds plays quite easily on a browser (instant play on itch.io is a huge barrier for most players); it can also export GB ROMs that play on any GB emulator; AND we have the option of going into “Super Game Boy Mode” with “GodotBoy” (more info here: https://greenf0x.itch.io/godotboy-template)

Anyhoo, leave a comment if you’re interested, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can!

Synergy Abyss looks very cool!

I'd be very interested in teaming up! I'm primarily a writer (short stories/novels) but I've been tinkering more and more with game design, though primarily for physical games (TTRPG Zine, card game). I'd love to join a team, get some experience, and help out as much as I can!

Heya, just got back from some days off; thank you for the kind words on the game! :)

Definitely could use more writing and game design expertise, those alone can really make or break an audience for something like this!

The last time I had a team for one of these, making a “Fit for purpose” Discord channel was the best way to stay organized. Would y’all be alright with joining something like that? I can get it set up fairly quickly!

Yeah, that sounds perfect to me!

Hey I am an inspiring game developer and this will be my first game jam too. I am still making my first game called star fall so if you are interested I would like to work with you

Heya! All are welcome to contribute in their own way, industry veterans and newcomers alike!

Like I mentioned in the other reply, I’ll be setting up a Discord Channel and we can discuss ideas and everyone’s experience there (and how folks would like to contribute)

Setting up the Channel in a moment! I know the actual jam is still a long way off, but we can start getting some pre-jam intentions cleared up in a dedicated space (if y’all are down, of course)

Okay, here we go! https://discord.gg/cdvuxX2WF

Come on in and say hi!

We’ve got plenty of time until the Jam starts… so consider this like a bookmark (or a save point) for this team in the near future.

Hi Llamakazi!

If you need chiptune, 8-bit music, I'd love to write some for your project.

Heya! More music is always a good idea; come on in!

The Discord invite is the same as above: https://discord.gg/cdvuxX2WF

BTW for the GB vibe: if you’re familiar with GB Studio at all, it’s even got a built-in tool for making music (and sound effects) at https://www.gbstudio.dev/music/

Bump as we get closer to the official start date!

We’ve got a few people now, but it would be lovely if there’s a pixel artist out there looking for a team! (and would like to join our merry band of misfits, of course)

Hello there Llamakazi, I'm somewhat of an intermediate game dev, i can do some programming, game design, a bit of music but I'm most suited in pixel art, though my style might not be all that special, could I join too!
