    On the special features for the Criterion Kicking and Screaming, Josh Hamilton and Chris Eigeman reflect on coming to work every day knowing Jacott was running away with the movie, which he was. Justice for Jacott!

    If MARRIAGE STORY wins Best Picture, Noah Baumbach should have the clout to make an entire movie around Carlos Jacott, a scene-stealer in his early films who pops up for one great line here. (“Why is there always a flirty grip?”)

    Pre-comeback Dennis Hopper as a HS science teacher in My Science Project (1985) is the most accurate casting ever. My crunchy HS chemistry teacher would tell us about zonking about during Woodstock.

    This does have one of my favorite movie-isms, where the kids have huge science questions so they go to their school science teacher for answers. Not my experience, but I do remember my eighth-grade teacher not showing up for class one day because he was passed out in a flowerbed.
